This week we read the chapter 10 that is called "Antarctica:Whose Continent Is It Anyway?" As you know,Antarctica is the coldest place on Earth and it is a useless continent. Some people such as authors go to there because they think that Antarctica should be used for research.I totally agree this idea because Antarctica isn't damaged or polluted by the people. That is, the naturalness of Antarctica still remains.I think so because of in the seventh paragraph (lines 35-38) the authors say that the continent's extreme cold and almost complete isolation so it is the best place to study and understand such as unique animal life, ozone depletion, and glacial story. In addition,The Madrid Protocol protect Antarctica and I learned that Antarctica doesn't belong any countries. Before I read this reading text,I hadn't known this information about Antarctica. Moreover, scientists, tourists, environmentalists, and oil and mineral seekers all have different opinions about Antarctica. On the other hand, all of them settle on their differences about Antarctica and they think that Antarctica is protected because it is especial continent for us.Finally,I admire authors when I read and I just like it.
YanıtlaSilThis week our reading topic was ''Antartica''. In my opinion the topic was very interesting everybody knows Antartica but how much? When we read the text I learn a lot of unknown things such as Antartica is the continent of all the world that means everyone can go Antartica without visa or some procedure.Althoug many peole thinks Antartica useless but I don't agree with that idea because Antartica is the coldest place on Earth and there are a lot of unknown things wait to explore. Therefore many scientists visit Antartica to make a research. In addition Antartica called Sience-Peace continent. Also Antartica doesn't belong to any countries.Antartica to host of many tourists and the number increase more and more every year.Briefly , this week I learn several things and it was enjoyble.
YanıtlaSilWe read the passage about Antartica.I think, passage is very intersting. It is informative passage. Therefore,I learned lot of information.Antartica locate south of the world. It has polar climate. It is the coldest, driest, and highest contient. Therefore, there is no vegetation in Antartica. These countries signed an agreement for oil,gas etc.Antartica attract attention on the people.Lots of touists and scientists go to Antartica for researching.According to researches,a mere 2.4 percent of Antartica 5.4 millions square mile land mass is ice-free,and then, only for a few months a year.Antartica has so fresh water in the world. However, there is no even a person.Besides, there are lots of animals. For example, penguins, seals, whales etc. These animals can live in Antartica because they have thick skins. To summarize,Antartica vital for the world and people because it has many advantages.
YanıtlaSilThis week our text was about Antarctica. It was interesting because it told features of Antarctica, and why people go to Antarctica. The author said that scientists, tourist, environmentalist, oil and mineral seekers were going to Antarctica. Our text implied that Antarctica is kept with some international singings. In my opinion, it is very nice that keeping Antarctica because we, all people, have already polluted the all parts of world where we have lived. Therefore, in my opinion, a lot of places, maybe entire world should be kept from people. In the end of the first page, the author mentioned about features of Antarctica, such as its size, height, heat, etc. I think the most interesting feature is: Antarctica is like a refrigerator of the world. As the author said “the continent’s vast ice fields reflect sunlight back into space, preventing the planet from overheating. Additionally, the author mentioned what the scientists feel about travelling to Antarctica for touristic trips. The writer implied that scientist don’t want to touristic trips because of pollution and they want to people who want to make searching in Antarctica should be permitted. I totally agree with these scientists and in my opinion people shouldn’t go Antarctica without scientists.
YanıtlaSilLast week’s topic was ‘‘Antarctica:Whose continent Is It Anyway.’’In my opinion, this topic is one of the most impotant chapters for not only human, but also the World because there are many vital reasons related to topic.First of all, Antarctica which has some important resourses is continent of the World. Some of the these resourses are oil and mineral reserves. They are very important to continue the life of humans especialy oil. After the car have been invented, the oil is getting more and more value. Therefore, oil is essential until finding another resourse for transportation. On the other hand,Antarctica is important for the World because it provides some important advantages to the World for example, some of them is that the continent’vast ice fields reflect sunlight back into space, preventing the planet from overheating.Even though this feature is only one of them,it is very important because if the continent’s vast ice fields didn’t reflect sunlight back into space ,many of continents in the World would stay under the water on account of melting. Also this bad situation causes a lot of damage to people such as flood.Another point is research. As many scientist said that Antarctica should be devoted to research only.I am favor of the idea because if people did something in order to earn money, I am sure that they would pollute there. Therefore, people should pay attention whatever they do.To sum up,Antarctica has vital position in the World for every field,so we should protect it from damage since we will inherit it to people of future
YanıtlaSilThis week we read "Antartica: Whose Continent Is It Anyway?" First I have to say I really liked passage since it was very informative. From 1 trough 4. paragraphs of the passage explained us why the scientists have been studying on Antartica ,and the tourists cannot arrange the expeditions? We can infer from the passage scientists have been searching for resources and predicting the weather. Also, people cannot arrange the expeditions for tourism because of cold weather.5. paragraph of the passage explained us the Madrid Protocol and its contents.Additionaly we can learn the cronoligical development of the Antertica thanks to author. In addition NSF and IGY were explained in the passage. We can get a lot of information from this informative passage.I really liked it.
YanıtlaSilThis week we read a passage about Antartica. First of all, this week’s topic was more understandable than last week’s topics and also informational. In this text author mentioned about his experience in Antartica. There were lots of information in this text. For example, Antartica is the coldest, driest and highest place in the worl and it is a useless continent. It is used for research. It doesn't belong to any country, but it protected by group of countries Antartica has not only ice but also oil and mineral seekers. I don’t like geography, so I don’t have much information about Antartica, but I learned these things and also I learned some information about Madrid Protocol. In my opinion we should protect there. The tourists shouldn’t be permitted to come to Antartica for balance of nature. Finally, I enjoyed because when I was kid, I wondered Antartica and I wanted to live there, but later I learned only animals live there because of the weather conditions. One day I saw a documentary about Australia and I learned scientist can go there because of the research and also tourist can go there without visa only in February. Maybe one day I will go there.
YanıtlaSilAntarctica : Whose Continent Is It Anyway ?
YanıtlaSilThis week, we talked about the Antarctica. So,what we have learned about it? As I mention,I have learned substantial and explanatory informations about Antarctica. This passage was not very long for us,but also it contained a lot of unknown words from the reading passage. For example, deplete, exploit, dismiss, lure, ruin etc.First of all, according to reading passage,Antarctica refered to the coldest place on Earth. On the other hand,I learned IGY,this means that International Geophysical Year,or a food chain corresponded to insects > birds > cats. Also I learned several vital informations from the passage. For example,Antarctica was a useless continent before IGY,and most of Antartica was not ice-free,and finally most tourists feel that Antarctica should not be dedicated to scientific researchonly. In my opinion,as usual, this reading passsage was very informative for me and my classmates. If I go there,I will investigate all of them one by one.

That week, we read a passage about Antarctica and we talked about the passage. I liked that passage because it taught a lot of things. We learned a lot of information about Antarctica Antarctica is the coldest continent in the world. I think, Antarctica is the most useful continent in the world because it wasn’t damaged by people. Antarctica have been saving itself with its purity since its existence. There are many people who go to Antarctica. Scientists can research about before of the world. People can discover new animals and plants species. Nowadays Antarctica have been affected by global warming. Icebergs are melting. Level of water is increasing in the world. It is dangerous for future of earth. Therefore, people have to preserve Antarctica and all of the world.
