ALPHA-2 READING JOURNAL ASSIGNMENT/ CHAPTER 4

Dear students,

I'd like to assign the chapter 4 that we have read this week. ''Laughter Is the Best Medicine for Your Heart'' Do you agree with this idea? If your answer is 'yes', how can a laughter be the best medicine? What do the studies indicate in the article?

  1. This week our reading text interested me and I think, it was more enjoyable than one’s we have read in the last 3 weeks. It was about "Can laughter affect human's heart's health positively." The text implied the more we laugh the healthier our heart is. I totally agree with this idea. Without a doubt, there is a strong relationship between psychological situation and physical situation of human body. This relationship is provided with hormones. For example, when we feel frightened, our level of adrenalin in blood gets higher and our metabolism becomes faster and our muscles begin to contract faster and also our body begins to swear. Most of people think that, all these effects occur thanks to fear but the essential cause is adrenalin which is produced by the fear we experience. We can deduce from this example, there is a strong bond between hormones and emotions and all our feelings affect our metabolism, so happiness must be highly affecting us physically. And happiness must affect us positively because when we feel happy, we forget our all nuisances and we feel more comfortable. Therefore, feeling happy can possibly prevent heart disease. In addition, as Miller, who is the director of the center for preventive cardiology at the university of Maryland medical school of medicine, said, laughter is learned behavior, so today’s people must learn this behavior and they must smile at least.

We read the passage about laugher.Acording to passage laugher is the most important things for health.cardiologist did some research about that and especially laughing protects people’s heart.ı think it is definitely true.ıf you laugh in your life,you feel less stres and you don’t be ilness easily because people generally feel sick because of stress.I know laugher is significant for health and heart but sometimes it isn’t enough.you should do exercise .you should eat healthy foods and you should laugh much.

One of the most significant things is health for all people.This text provided us laughter is essential for health because health and laughter depend with each other.First of all, the author say that ‘‘laughter may help prevent heart disease’’ I totally agree with the author in this point because stress is the most important reason for disease.Therefore,if you don’t want to be ill,you should prevent stress in your life.Namely,my grandfather has heart disease,this situation supply a lot of disadvantages him such as he don’t walk on the Street a lot,but even though there many solutions for heart disease, one of the most effective solution is laughter.Besides,ıf you don’t want to have heart disease,you should do something like doing exercises,don’t smoke cigarette,eating healty food instead of junk food…etc because ıf you pay attention these things, in my opinion,you never have heart disease during your life.In addition,some of the scientists say that ‘’laughter is the best medicine’’ especially old people have already known it because stress causes a lot of bad things.Therefore,they try to laugh every time.As a result,ıf you don’t want to meet with bad condition like heart disease,you should laugh during your life

  4. We read a passage about laugher this week.There ara some researches and these cardiologists found that laugher is really beneficial for healthy especially your heart. If people are happy or they usually laugh in their lives, they don’t have any illness easily. I didn't know this situation when I heard that information,I was shocked.Laugher is the best medicine for your heart.Because thanks the laugher body secrets some hormone about happiness.People ,who laugh a lot, have strong immunity system.To sum up, laugher is the cheapest and the most significant method avoid heart diseases.

  5. We read the name with “Laughter is the best medicine for your health” passage. According to cardiologists , laughter is really important for our health. However they don’t know how laughing protect heart. If we want to have healthy and long time life, we should be exercise, eat right and laugh.I think, laughter is necessary for our life. I am always happy and I laugh every time. Sometimes I go to stand-up shows and funny cinema films for being happy. When we were happy, we can stay alive for a long time. There are many benefits of laughing for our health. For example, while we were laughing, our bodies generate adrenaline and this is beneficial for our health. Many cancer patients recover with happiness. This shows that laughing and laughter are the best medicine for our lives.

I like the reading passage for this week.It is about laughter is the best medicine for your heart.Laughter cheers up for people.Also,it is very good for your heart.Heart diseases decrease with laughter.Researchers support this statement,too.If a person want to get over from their ilnesses and they can be happy.On the other hand,people let off steam with laughter.This topic is very important about hearth health,too because heart attacks are occured by stress.If you focus on positive actions,you get over your ilnesses.To summarize,if you love your heart,you should laugh and you should avoid bad habits.

  7. This week we read a text about laughter. The auther says ‘Laughter Is the Best Medicine for Your Heart'. I agree with this idea. I think people who always laugh are more healtier than the others because while they are laughing, they don’t think their problems. For example, my mother’s mum always complain about her disease. She always has an excuse about her disease. Therefore she rarely goes out ve smiles. She always unhappy but my father’s mum always goes out. She loves walking and she always smiles. I know she has some problems about her health but she never talk us about her problems. Also my father’s dad is cancer patient but my grandmother never complain about these things. Because of that situations I think laughter is the best medicine.

  8. This week, our topic was '' Laughter Is The Best Medicine for Your Heart'' which was about laughter as usual. In my opinion, it was the most enjoyable topic of all which are in the second term.As Alper said, health is very important thing for people and the passage already tried to show that there is a relationship between laughter&health. The author gave some examples about this topic to prove that relationship. According to text, the scientists like M.Miller, M.D., couldn't prove how laughing protects the heart and reduce the risk of health diseases exactly yet but they had some results of a study which done by scientists with 300 people. This study showed that laughter can be friend of our heart and reduce the risk of cancer. Already, we agree with this idea as Turkish people! The more you laugh, the more healthy you become. Also my father told me that my great-father didn't care about problems a lot and he always laughed in every situations.Therefore, he lived 109 years without any diseases. I mentined that because I think it was about our topic. As a result, you’d better laugh a lot if you love yourself and a good laugh is the best medicine, whether you are sick or not. Don’t forget that ‘’ Any man who laughs at women's clothes has never paid the bill for them! ‘’

We read this week,Laughter is the Best Medicine for Your Heart.I think,that's correct observation because I definitely agree on this idea.Laughter is as important as other method for avoiding heart disease.In addition,researches found that there are emotional benefits of laughing.For instance,I learned this reading text which laughter is the protective barrier lining our blood vessels,so it protects us from heart disease.In my opinion, people who laugh every situations,illness won't catch them.That is, laughter is the best friend for our heart,and it is the easier exercise and we can do it everyday.To sum up,laughter is the best medicine for tired heart..
