I'd like to assign Chapter 3 that includes an article about birth-order myth. What is your opinion about birth-order myths? Does birth-order affect your personality,intelligence and achievement? What are the advantages and disadvantages of being an only child? How can family size be important for success? Write your reflections by referring to the article.

I have always believed that the birth order affects people's personality. When I read the text, that is "the birth- order myth", I felt confused because the text implied the birth order doesn't affect people's

Now, I have changed my opinion, and ıt may be right because discovering human's phycology is impossible and everyone's character is different so if the birth order myth showed the truth, everyone would be same with each other. The first part of the text tells the birth order belief is only a folk wisdom. As I said at the very beginning of my journal the text helped me to change my opinion and I agree with the first part which tries to say birth order is not a useful predictor of anything. From the second part of the text it is inferred that the way the parents treat their children is much more important than birth order. I totally agree with this ıdea. Moreover, ıt says ıf parents believe in birth- order, they treat their children differently, so as though birth order myth is true. The third and fourth parts are saying that,
number of siblings and spacing between children don't affect personality in predictable ways. It may be true in general. However, ıf we analyze a person's personality individually, we find different results. For instance, I am the youngest child, but ıf I were a first child or my number of siblings were different, I would have a different personality. To conclude, my conclusion about the text is that the birth order may affect us individually, but doesn't affect all people in the same way.
I believe birth-order myth because imagine that your family members are 8 and you are the youngest child of family your parrents give consequence to you than your siblings.I think that situation have two sides of personality first one is your siblings are jealous you it effects thier personality and the second one is you became a spoiled person and it effect on your personality or let look some different examples imagine you are the first child and you have 5 siblings i think you feel like you have to take care of your siblings and it effect on your personality but i don't belive the birth - order myth effect people intelligence because intelligence is inborn and you can improve your intelligence.I think the only children has some advantages and disadvantages.I want to share my opinion about some advantages your parents more interest with you and you don't have to share your things with your siblings or anybody else.Disadvantages are you feel you alone , you don't have any siblings so you can't share your feelings with your siblings .
YanıtlaSilI think Birth-Order Myth is important people's personality.For example,people ,who are the youngest child in the family, are reckless.On the other hand, people ,who are oldest child, are responsible.They should be a model their younger siblings because youngest children follow their older brother/sister.Being an only child has many disadvantages.For example,they don't share anything the other people.They are selfish.This habit continue forever because Children's personality formation end they're six.In addition,they feel alone.they want to play somebody but they don't have siblings.Also being an only child has advantages.Namely,their parents always protect them.They have many opportunities.if they want anything,their parents always do it.Family size is important for children's achievement.If children grow up in a small family,parents much more support their children.But There isn't any disadvantages to grow up in a small family.In my opinion,I want to grow up in a large family..
YanıtlaSilİn my opinion,birth order exactly affects people’s personality,intelligence and achievement.for example, firstborns are more successful and they have a lot of responsibility.they have to grow up early.secondborns are luckier than firstborns because parents gain experience and they do less mistakes.Therefore they grow up freely and generally they are more creative than sibling. being an only child has some disadvantage.first of all,if you are an only child,you don’t learn sharing so you don’t have good relationship with other people.you feel alone . I prefer small size family because ıf you have a large family and many siblings your parents aren’t interested with you.

YanıtlaSilIn the second passage,many of the families believe that firstborn is the most intelligent of all.I am not favor of the idea because this condition is related to education.Many of the families pay attention to firstborn for instance,they want to give the best education to them. This situation provides to them a lot of opportunities.
In the third passage,the author mention about size of family is important or not.I think,this situation is very effectivly on people because ıf you have large family,you can find anything in order to speak or discuss.Put simply,you can think more and more about problem of family then you can present suggestion about topic. In my opinion,first-born of the family,accordingly the oldest of the siblings,has sense of leadership.For example,more than half of American Presidents are first child.Also the first-borns are dependable,conscious and perfectionist.In my experience they don't like surprises,and they have the characteristics of highhanded.Middle siblings has complex features ,and they aren't self-expression.They think not be a space apart in their family to place special emphasis on friendship.They have substantive and creative features.The youngest child of the siblings is extrovert and sociable.The youngest children aren't irresponsible about spending money or financial and their only hope has fun.They are used to catch one's attention ,and they like fame.Many famous people are known the youngest sibling.I think the youngest child of the family is as equal as the other siblings.Nuclear family can be important for success because there are close relationship and ambitious children in the family.I like this topic because I have one brother and sister. I have written easily.

For instance, I am secondborn. my parents could make mistake while they were growing my brother but they had an experience and they didn’t make mistake maybe I don’t know. According to my observation, secondborn children are really smart and successful like me. Therefore, It is important people’s personality and intelligent. In my opinion, being an only child has a lot of disadvantages. For example, the children always have to be alone. They can’t play with his siblings, they are usually bored. Maybe they can be antisocial people. However, being an only child has a little bit advantage. Parents show an interest in their child. Perhaps they can be naughty and mardy people. I think, ideal family size is important for success and nuclear family is the best family size to grow successful children because this family members have many advantages. For example, children can have a good education in private college.

I think first borns are more hardworking and succesful than second borns but in my opinion they aren’t lucky because their parents fall all over them. YanıtlaSilThis week,we talked about ‘The Birth-Order Myth.’ So,what we have learned about it?As I mention,I have learned a lot of important information about this subject.For example,according to paragraph,’Many people believe that birth order affects an individual’s personality or intelligence.’I totally agree with these people.Firstborn children have always more advantages than secondborn children. However,there are disadvantages as well as being the firstborn child.Let us say that.First of all,if you are the firstborn child in your family,you have a big advantage until have a sibling.Firstly,everyone of in your family focus you.This will make you happy.Secondly,you feel like something else in the family as very valuable,and it swells to you.Thirdly and finally,although,you feel like the most valuable member of the family yourself,actually,you need a close friend in your family.Well,if you were the secondborn child,how would you feel?If you ask me,I cannot give any answer.But if you ask for my brother,he can give the best answer to us.First,’Have a secondborn child is an awful situation.’ he said,and I asked him,’Why do you think so?’,and he said,’You’re the firstborn child in our family,and you have several advantages.But I am a secondborn child,and I hate it.’And then,I said him,’It will never happen,you don’t bother your pretty little head.’Although I said him this sentence,satisfaction have the firstborn child of my family is priceless.

YanıtlaSilOf course,birth-order affect my personality,intelligence,and achievement.For example,when I was 4 years old, my sister wasn't born yet and my life was really perfect,comfortable but at the same time it was boring for me,because when my mother and father didn't want to play with me,I was crying to be only child.Then,I wanted them to make sibling to me.When my sister born, I realized that she will be more achievement than I.At the moment, she is more intelligence and achievement than I,but I'm more responsible than she is,because she hasn't got younger sister.When I read between 27-29 lines,I understand that the people believe that firstborns are more capable , however research reveals that vice versa.In my opinion,firstborns are more capable than later borns,because if you're birth-order,you have to do everything yourself when you were 4-5 years old.But if you are younger than your siblings,your older siblings can help to you what you want to do something.Therefore, birth-order are not luckier than later borns.In addition,I disagree second part what names 'Old Theories Die Hard.' In this part,researches believe that growing up in a small family hasn't any disadvantages.I don't think so.Because, a big family is provided a lot of opportunity.For example,when you got into trouble,your family's members can help you.In last part,researches think that spacing doesn't matter.I exactly agree with them,because it's up to person.In conclusion,I like this reading text,because I realized that I'm unique to be birth-order in my family,and I'm happy this situation.
